The position of Project Coordinator for Haiti falls under the Humanitarian Department of the Archdiocesan Charity of Olomouc (ACHO). The coordinator manages development and humanitarian projects in Haiti, carries out their monitoring and evaluation, develops the activities of ACHO in Haiti and in the Czech Republic, communicates with donors and partners, and participates in presentation and fundraising activities.

Job description

• Ensuring the implementation of existing development projects and their activities
• Developing project proposals based on needs analysis and calls for proposals
• implementing and updating the strategic plan for Haiti
• Maintain and develop relationships with project and other partners and represent ACHO at meetings
• presenting and promoting ACHO activities implemented in Haiti
• lecturing to the general public and to students in schools
• identifying, training and mentoring volunteer staff to support ACHO’s humanitarian and development activities
• managing domestic projects

Required

• Relevant higher vocational or university education
• Good command of English, working knowledge of French, ability to speak (or willingness to learn) Creole an advantage
• ability to write and manage projects, experience in implementing development/humanitarian projects
• analytical and planning skills, creativity and a proactive approach
• readiness to respond to critical situations (earthquakes, hurricanes and other MU)
• readiness for short and medium-term foreign missions
• ability to work under pressure and manage stress
• communication skills, working with MS Office and databases
• Group B driving licence

• Respect for Christian principles
• identification with the values and mission of the ACHO and the Code of the Charity of the Czech Republic
• ability to work in a multicultural environment and in challenging conditions abroad
