Haitians will read new novels, plays and textbooks
Gonaïves – French books and textbooks have arrived in Gonaïves, Haiti. The books are already on the shelves of the Library of the Center of St. Joseph. The textbooks will be used by pupils from the local school. The Archdiocesan Caritas Olomouc has been supporting the center and the school where the poorest people, especially children, attend. It sent literature and textbooks to the Caribbean through the French organization Books Without Borders – Livres sans frontieres.
There were 2 520 books in the Gonaïves consignment. Some will teach math, French, science, English or Spanish at school. “To the library in the Center of St. Joseph was added encyclopedia, dictionary and books for children, youth and adults. They can read novels, plays or magazines,” says Klára Lőffelmannová from the Archdiocesan Charity Olomouc.
