Beginning of school in Haiti
On October 7, 2024, the school year in Haiti finally began, which the children had been looking forward to for a long time. After months of uncertainty and complications that plagued the country, the school gates opened again, welcoming thousands of pupils eager to return to their classrooms.
However, returning to school remains a challenging task. Many schools have been vandalized in recent months and some are still under-resourced to ensure a safe learning environment. Despite these obstacles, the start of the school year is a sign of determination and hope. Children, parents and teachers believe that education is the key to a better future for Haiti and hope that, despite the current situation, they can overcome difficulties together and successfully manage the new school year.
Many families and children are hoping that despite all the obstacles, this school year will go on without interruption and that education will be a priority even in these difficult times.
