Monsignor Jude Thaddeus Okolo: The New Apostolic Nuncio to Haiti
It is with great joy and hope that we received the news that the Holy Father has appointed Monsignor Jude Thaddeus Okolo as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Haiti. For the Archdiocesan Charity Olomouc (ACHO) and all the donors of the Adoption at a Distance project, this is wonderful news. Monsignor Okolo is heading to a country where our Charity has been providing aid for over 20 years, and where he himself has served in the past.
Five Years of Footprints in the Czech Republic
Monsignor Jude Thaddeus Okolo served as the Apostolic Nuncio to the Czech Republic for five years. During this time, he won the hearts of many as a diplomat with an extraordinarily human approach and an “open door” policy. Both the media and those he met personally often highlighted his ability to listen and his sincere interest in charitable work.
He was not merely an official representative of the Vatican; he was a man who personally supported our mission and understood the specifics of providing aid in the world’s poorest regions. We do not see his departure for Haiti as a goodbye, but rather as the sending of “one of our own” to the place where help is needed most.
Prospects for Future Cooperation
We believe that Monsignor Okolo’s new mission will open a new chapter in our efforts. His appointment is a promise to us that the voices of the poorest Haitians, whom we care for together, will be heard at the highest levels.
We thank Monsignor Okolo for his closeness during his time in the Czech Republic and accompany him with our prayers in his new and challenging mission. We firmly believe that our paths in supporting Haitian children and communities will soon cross again—this time directly on the soil of the “Pearl of the Antilles.”
“We accompany him with our prayers and look forward with hope to everything we will achieve together for Haiti.”
